Armenia is a Christian mountainous country. It is located in the southern Caucasus, between the Black and the Caspian seas and borders with Georgia from the North, Azerbaijan from the East, Iran from the South and Turkey from the West. The style of Tamanyan favoured the reformation of the small provincial town into modern capital of Armenia, which would be a big industrial and cultural center. The general plan of Yerevan, was designed for 150 000 residents; however thanks to its brilliancy and greatness it became the basis for all subsequent developments of the city.
